Sweetwater Municipal Auditorium
Sweetwater Municipal Auditorium, built in 1926, has had a long history of civic meetings, pageants, notable music performers, and even boxing matches held within. Owned by the City but operated by a volunteer Sweetwater-Nolan County Board of Directors, the Auditorium has seen steady growth in renovations and performances. The Board, whose motto is “Providing Community Development through the Arts”, does just that by hosting a number of shows every year, and enjoys the support of the local community. Its Applause Series has a Broadway Revue, a Western Heritage show, a Christmas show, a Lift Every Voice concert, and a Musica Latina show. In addition to hosting these shows, the Auditorium is available for private needs, hosting several business, church, and other civic organization meetings every year.
The Auditorium currently has a capital funds campaign to raise $50,000 for use in making improvements.
The community has made many improvements made in the Sweetwater Municipal Auditorium in the last year: a new 10-ton air conditioner/heat pump, a protective cover for our baby grand piano, and our whimsical glowing tower windows. Our Corporate Circle helped pay for these improvements! But there are more improvements to be made, including:
- replacing the stage curtain system,
- replacing the stage rollup door and adding an equipment ramp,
- replacing doors in the Auditorium seating area
- replacing the spotlights used in the balcony.
Why not have your company’s name prominently displayed as a member in our Corporate Circle for the Sweetwater Municipal Auditorium? As a member, your name (if you choose) will be displayed on every program we create during 2015. We have three levels of sponsorship to choose from, and every level is very appreciated.
In addition, for a more personal sponsorship, would you consider a seat sponsorship? For $150, you can dedicate a seat in the Auditorium with your name or the name of someone you wish to remember. Of course, we are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and we do send out appropriate tax receipts.
Thank you for your consideration – The Sweetwater Municipal Auditorium Board of Directors:
